Fall Boys' Lacrosse

The Registration "Fall Boys' Lacrosse" is not currently available.

Boys Fall Field Lacrosse (2021)

For the fall season, MLA will conduct in-house activities that combine instructional modules, clinic-style skill drills, and tailored in-house competition. This model allows our coaches to optimize player development at a time when many players will be aging up to the next age segment and remain flexible when attendance issues arise because of conflicts with other fall activities (e.g., football or hockey).

Activities for fall sessions will be appropriate for players of all skill levels.

LOCATION: All sessions will be held at Badger Park in Shorewood (behind Shorewood City Hall), 5745 Country Club Road, Shorewood, MN 553331.

10U-14U Boys Information:

  • One-hour sessions will be held on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights at 6pm (10U), 7pm (12U), and 8pm (14U), respectively.
  • The first session for the 10U-14U sessions will convene on Sunday, September 12, with the final session for those groups to be held on Wednesday, October 20.
  • For 8U Boys and 6U Co-Ed:
    • Sessions will be held on Wednesdays 5-6pm and Sundays 1-2pm.
    • The first session for the 6U co-ed and 8U boys' sessions will convene on Wednesday, September 15, with the final session to be held on Wednesday, October 20.

Registration cost:  $99 per player for 10U-14U; $49 per player for 6U Co-Ed and 8U boys.

Note: During registration, 6U and 8U players will have the option to add to their registration a Warrior Warp Mini lacrosse stick suitable for play through the 8U level. MLA has sourced these sticks for our youngest players direct from Warrior and offers them at our cost ($35), which reflects a discount over retail pricing.

Uniforms: Uniforms are not included as part of registration, and will not be required for fall lacrosse activities. Returning players should wear a reversible jersey or practice pinnie from a prior season; new players may be given a reversible jersey or practice pinnie from existing stock leftover from prior seasons subject to availability. MLA welcomes the donation of MLA pinnies and uniforms from prior seasons that no longer fit.

Equipment:

  • For 10U-14U age segments, YLM requires full lacrosse equipment. This means a certified lacrosse helmet, lacrosse gloves, lacrosse shoulder pads, lacrosse arm or elbow pads, a fitted mouth guard (not clear or white, and Invisalign doesn't count), an athletic cup, and proper athletic footwear for play on field turf (typically molded rubber or plastic athletic cleats; no metal cleats).
  • For 8U, players may wear the lacrosse equipment listed above or corresponding hockey equipment, e.g., hockey helmets, shoulder pads, arm pads, and gloves. MLA recommends lacrosse-specific helmets and especially lacrosse gloves. 8U players must wear fitted mouthguards and appropriate athletic footwear. Protective athletic cups recommended.
  • For 6U, players need a lacrosse stick and appropriate athletic footwear! Fitted mouthguards recommended.

Optional TournamentFor each segment, we have the option, depending on player interest and availability, to participate in the Great Pumpkin Shootout Tournament on October 16-17. (An additional registration fee would apply for interested players.)
