Boys Youth Lacrosse
MLA offers competitive lacrosse for Spring and Summer seasons for players born from 8/31/2020 to 9/1/2012, or normally 1st and 8th grade. Our Spring and Summer seasons are separate with Summer being MLA's main season and Spring being our lead-up to Summer season.

2026 Spring & Summer Tryout Dates
All tryouts will be held at the Tonka Dome at Minnetonka High School. There are not separate tryouts for Spring and Summer, they are combined. These will be for our 10U, 12U, and 14U age groups. Please save the dates; it's critical for players to attend tryouts if they wish to play on an A-team.

Uniforms
New 2026 uniforms will need to be purchased in a player's first registration to ensure your player gets a uniform. Uniforms come with a reversible jersey, game shorts, and a shooter shirt.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is my child too old [or sometimes too young] to start lacrosse?
A: No! With guidance from the "Lacrosse Athlete Development Model" developed by U.S. Lacrosse, we gear all of our progams to be age appropriate. In addition, we design our rosters and our league team registrations levels to be developmentally tied to the athletes at a given age, in a given cohort, and on a given team. In short, we do everything we can to make our lacrosse experience developmentally productive, with more emphasis placed on developing young athletes, lacrosse players, and citizens than on winning.
Q: What equipment is needed for your Spring and Summer leagues?
A: All players are required to have a NOCSAE certified helmet and chest protector, elbow pads, gloves, cleats, mouthguard, and protective cup.
Q: If I'm an eighth-grader and I'm selected to play on the MHS lacrosse prep team this spring, what happens to my spring registration?
A: Eighth graders who try out for and are selected for participation on a Minnetonka High School lacrosse team during the 2025 high-school season cannot, by MSHSL rule, participate in youth field lacrosse during the spring field season. Eighth-graders who participate on an MHS team will receive a prorated refund for their primary spring lacrosse registration, minus the cost of a uniform if purchased in the Spring registration.
